Council of Obas Chair, Alawe Storms Okemesi For Ekiti Parapo...Harps on Tourism Development (See Photos)

History was made today in the ancient and historical town of Okemesi-Ekiti as Ekiti State Government Collaborates with the Owa Oye In Council and Federation of Okemesi Improvement Union Cultural Heritage and Tourism Committee to celebrate Ekiti Parapo Festival.
The annual event which was held in Saturday, 5th of October, 2019 at the Ekiti Parapo Resort Centre, Ita-Balogun, Okemesi-Ekiti had in attendance the Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Obas, Oba, the Alawe of Ilawe-Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, Afuntade 1, Representatives of the State Governor and the Speaker Ekiti State House of Assembly Rt. Honorable Funminiyi Afuye, ably represented by his Special Adviser on Media, Akogun Tai Oguntayo.
The event which was themed: "Remembering Our Past, Celebrating Our Unity" is a programme held annnually to remember and honor the heroes of the EkiriParapo war, also known as the Kiriji War and also to celebrate the start of Ekiti's oneness as spearheaded by an Okemesi-Ekiti born Prince, Fabunmi Oraralada.
He also acknowledged the presence of the Chairman, Ekiti State Council of Obas, the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti who was present at the event for leaving some other important activities to be present at the Event.
Chairman Council of Obas in Ekiti State, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, the Alawe, in his remarks said, "The Coming together of the Ekiti Communities 133 Years ago was the creation of Ekiti State because that marked the beginning of the oneness of the Ekiti People.
"Which charges us on the task to unite as one. It is only by unity and togetherness that we can overcome every challenge facing us as a people".
He however charged the people to enhance the tourism potentials around them as these could be a great source of wealth for the Okemesi-Ekiti Community and Ekiti State in general.
