Encomiums As ASOBA Hosts Ekiti Speaker, Senator In Grand Style

It was an encomium  galore last Sunday as the Annunciation School Old Boys' Association (ASOBA) hosted the Speaker of Ekiti State, Hon Funminiyi Afuye and  Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye.

The June 1973 set of ASOBA organized a dinner in Lagos to honour its old colleagues who were recently elected and sworn in as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly.

The body held the dinner at Raddison hotel, Ikeja under the Chairmanship of its National President, Professor Babatola Olufemi
Speaking at the occasion, the National President commended the honoraries for making the school proud. 

He said he had been monitoring the political activities of Senator Adeyeye and Hon Afuye
in Ekiti and Nigeria as a whole and he could say without any doubt in his mind that the duo had lifted the glory of Annunciation Grammar School, Ikere Ekiti to a greater height.

Having acknowledged other members for promoting their alma mata in their various chosen professions, Prof Olufemi urged them to always remember that "east or west, home is the best".

Addressing the press at the event, the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly took time to explain the various developmental projects of Ekiti State government under the new administration of Dr Kayode Fayemi.

He assured that Annunciation Grammar school, Ikere Ekiti would not be left out in the ongoing massive overhauling of education sector in the State.

Afuye who noted that the event coincided with the golden jubilee of the admission of his set into the school, sought the partnership of his colleague in the development of Ekiti State saying that "the development of our alma mata and in deed our State, is a collective responsibility of everyone of us".

Other officers at the auspicious occasion are: Vice President, Femi Ayodele, General Secretary, Samson Orangun, BOT Members; Prince Tony Adejugbe and Engr Moses Adesulu ASOBA.
