Tutor General Felicitates With Ekiti Teachers, Students

The Tutor General For Ekiti Central Education District, Mrs Oluwatoyin Arogundade has congratulated the Students and teachers in the Zone for witnessing another peaceful and of the session.
As the schools are rounding off for the end of the of 2018/2019 academic session, The Tutor General commended the workforce for their dedication and selfless service in the course of imparting knowledge into the students during the period. 
She charged the students not to allow the holiday euphoria rob them of the good behavior they had learnt in school. Mrs Arogundade urged Parents to be vigilant and monitor their children activities during the vacation.

The duo of Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Value Orientation, Are Muyiwa Olomilua and the Special Assistant to Governor Kayode Fayemi on New Media, Abiodun Borisade have been presented  awards of excellence by the Student Body of the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ), Ado-Ekiti campus.

The Speaker of Ekiti State, Rt Hon Funmilayo Afuye also gave a key note address at the event which took place at the Erelu Bisi Fayemi Hall of Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), along NTA Road, Ado-Ekiti, yesterday July 25, 2019. Ekiti is now becoming great with intelligent and compassionate lawmakers both at the State and National Assemblies. Gone are the days when the State Assembly was occupied by the babalawos, agberos, scavengers and orchestras.

Just last week, Hon Ademola Ojo, representing Ijero Constituency, in an emotion laden voice moved a motion that philanthropists across Ekitiland should rise to save a former national female football star, Abidemi Aluko of cancer having commended how the First Lady, Erelu Bisi Fayemi for giving her ''a large sum of money''.

NBA Needs Leadership Shift -Fapohunda.

Ekiti State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapounda has made case for ideological rebirth within  the Nigeria Bar Association's (NBA)   to give room for a transformation that will ensure the upcoming generation of lawyers take over the mantle of leadership.

Ministerial Nomination: S/W APC Congratulates Adebayo, Aregbesola, Fashola, others

The All Progressive Congress from the South West zone has felicitated with the seven ministerial nominees from the south western states who made the list of the ministers newly appointed by President Muhamadu Buhari.

In a press statement made available by its Publicity Secretary,Rt. Hon. Karounwi Oladapo, the south west zone of the ruling party described all the seven nominees as round pegs in round holes, and that the entire country will greatly benefit from their wealth of experiences.

A Delegation of Ekiti State Ministry of Justice and the Portfolio Lead for Justice Security and Conflict in Sub-Saharan Africa, British Council, Bob Arnot visited the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti in a move to propose a Referral Centre for Victims of Sexual Violence in the State.

The Meeting which took place today, Monday July 15, 2019 at the premises of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital had the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapohunda proposing a  location for the Centre within the premises of EKSUTH.

According to Fapohunda, the Center would be a one-stop facility to provide adequate and speedy attention which will include medicals and counselling to Victims of sexual and domestic assault. He also emphasized that the Project has the support of the Office of the First Lady of the State.

Fasoranti's Daughters Death: S/W APC Calls For Drastic Measures to Overcome Insecurity

The All Progressives Congress, South West Zone has called for the immediate implementation of drastic measures to overcome the challenges of Insecurity in the Zone.
In a statement made available by the Zonal Publicity Secretary of APC in the South West, Karounwi Oladapo, "the recent breaches in security on the South West roads is very worrisome. Fayemi Pays Fayose’s Appointees’ Outstanding Salaries, Allowances

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has paid the outstanding salaries and allowances of members of the State Civil Service Commission and House of Assembly Service Commission who were appointed by the immediate past administration of Mr Ayodele Fayose.

Court Remands Dad For Allegedly Raping Daughter In Ekiti

An Ado Ekiti High Court, under Justice M. O Abodunde has yesterday, Monday July 8, 2018 remanded one Basiru Adeyanju for alleged raping his seventeen year old daughter, name withheld.

Adeyanju of No 30, Irona Quarters, Ado Ekiti, the state capital on the 10th of September, 2017 raped his daughter, which is contrary to section 358 of the criminal code law, cap c16, Law of Ekiti state, 2012. In a two count charges suit, read to accused bordering on rape and attempted rape, he pleaded not guilty.

The Ekiti State Attorney General, Olawale Fapohunda who led two other colleagues from the ministry of Justice appeared for the state,  while Adeyinka Opaleke led other colleagues who appeared for the respondent.

Having called the PW123 at the initial charge, Fapohunda informed the court to call 4 and 5 PW to continue his case which was granted.
