War in PDP As Fayose Tells Ekiti Not to Vote Olujimi
With less than forty days to the presidential election, there has been confusion in the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State as former governor Ayodele Fayose has campaigned against the senate minority leader Abiodun Olujimi.
The former governor who in a video released on social media yesterday by his special assistant on new media, Lere Olayinka, told Ekiti people to vote all the People's Democratic Party's candidates in the forthcoming election except Senator Abiodun Olujimi, as he was of the opinion that Abiodun Olujimi must not return to the senate.
In what seemed like a build up to the act of the former governor, Abidoun Olujimi who is the Peoples Democratic Party's Senatorial Candidate in Ekiti South Senatorial District inaugurated a factional campaign team in the state capital last week with the allegation that Fayose was interfering in the affairs of the party and handpicking members of the campaign team in the State.
According to her, "Governor Ayo Fayose in in charge of the South West, he should leave Ekiti for us. The former governor Ayodele Fayose, who is the South West Coordinator of the Atiku Campaign Organization also inaugurated another factional campaign group for the State the same day.
Fayose while reacting to the other factional campaign team inaugurated by Abiodun Olujimi said, "they should not make an issue out of this, i have said it before, you have seen the house of assembly candidates, they are here, you have seen the house of representatives candidates, they are here, the elders are here, what else do you want again, i cannot go and beg anybody and i have come here to do what i am here to do, which is to inaugurate the Atiku Campaign team".
