Ekiti OMPAN Liaises With ABUAD
The Online Media Practitioner's Association of Nigeria (OMPAN), Ekiti State Chapter in an official visit to the Vice Chancellor of the Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), Professor Michael Ajisafe has liaised with the management to discuss areas in which the online practitioners could come in to project the great citadel of learning.
While receiving the Ekiti State OMPAN team at the University in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital; Dr. Taye Babaleye, who is the Head of Department, Communications and Media Studies in ABUAD, said he was elated to welcome the OMPAN team to the ABUAD community.
He emphasised "that the Online Media is the in-thing no and that the practice is a global thing and it's not limited to Nigeria alone.
He advised and urged the OMPAN in Ekiti State to maintain consistency and always exercise self censorship, not to publish fake news that will set the political parties or religious bodies against each other.
He however enjoined OMPAN to ensure it stand out and be willing to work with the ABUAD as a great Institution of learning.
He pledged his readiness to partner with the Association of Online Practitioners and maintain a very good relationship with her in the area of effective disseminations of information that will continue to project and present ABUAD in a good light.
Mrs. Omolola Oluwasola who is a Specialist in Advertising and Digital Marketing in the department of Communication and Media Studies at ABUAD, was also on ground to receive the Ekiti OMPAN team.
Reacting to the visit, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Michael Ajisafe promised to work in partnership with the association. He expressed his satisfaction over the visit and pledged to carry along the body in future events and programmes of the Institution.
