President Muhammadu Buhari has yesterday, July 24, 2018 while reacting to the deflection of NASS members expressed his total commitment to the values of democracy, freedom of choice as well as total willingness to work with all members of the National Assembly, irrespective of their political party, for the benefit of the nation.

How Fayose's Arrogance Caused Eleka's Defeat - Primate Ayodele

Popular Lagos-based seer, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, has
revealed that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Prof.
Kolapo Olusola, lost the Ekiti State governorship election due to alleged arrogance and overconfidence of his godfather, Governor Ayo

Ayodele, who is the founder and head of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church with headquarters in Oke Afa, Isolo, Lagos, said he warned
Fayose about a year ago of an impending defeat but the governor rebuffed his warning.

The cleric, who hails from Ikere-Ekiti the country home of Olusola, disclosed that he
warned Fayose to change some of his alleged negative attributes which
included ingratitude, arrogance and self deception of having prophetic
utterances if he hoped to succeed in installing a successor.

Ekiti OMPAN Liaises With ABUAD

The Online Media Practitioner's Association of Nigeria (OMPAN), Ekiti State Chapter in an official visit to the Vice Chancellor of the Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), Professor Michael Ajisafe has liaised with the management to discuss areas in which the online practitioners could come in to project the great citadel of learning.

While receiving the Ekiti State OMPAN team at the  University  in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital; Dr. Taye Babaleye, who is the Head of  Department, Communications and Media Studies in ABUAD, said he was elated to welcome the OMPAN team to the ABUAD community.

Crisis Looms As APC Lawmakers Set to Reverse Adjournment

Fresh crisis is brewing in the Ekiti state House of Assembly following the adjournment of legislative business to October by the majority Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members of the House.

The minority All Progressives Congress (APC) legislators described the long adjournment as illegal and not in the interest of the people of the state who elected them.

The APC Assembly members led by the Minority Leader, Chief Gboyega Aribisogan (Ikole Constituency 1), alleged that the long adjournment was masterminded by Governor Ayo Fayose in a bid to emasculate the legislative arm.

Other APC members of the Ekiti parliament are Mr. Sunday Akinniyi (Ikere Constituency 1) and Mr. Adeniran Alagbada (Ise/Orun Constituency).

Aribisogan, Akinnyi and Alagbada defected from the PDP at different times and joined the APC over internal crisis that rocked their former party.

Ekiti NUJ Condemns BSES Unprofessionalism...Pleads with NBC to Re-Open Station

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ekiti state council has pleaded with the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to temper justice with mercy over the closure of the Broadcasting service of Ekiti (BSES).

In a statement signed by the chairman Com. Rotimi Ojomoyela and the secretary of the Union Com. Kayode Babatuyi, it was stated that the NUJ is not in any way happy about the unprofessional attitude of the station.

They however made the plea in respect of their colleagues whose means of livelihood is being threatened.

"Its a known fact that the fragrant disobedient to broadcast law by the station is a consequence of "ownership factor" in the media industry which had made journalists helpless by operating to the tune and dictate of the owner of the organisation where they work.

Ekiti 2018: YIAGA Condemns the use of Hate Speeches and Inciting Statements

An observer group, YIAGA Africa, in its project, Watching The Votes (WTV)  has condemned the increasing level of hate speech and inciting statements by Key political actors in Ekiti State and urged the security agencies to sanction any individual or group propagating hate speech in this election.

They made this condemnation while briefing journalists today July 12, 2018 at the Eleventh house, Ado-Ekiti, on their pre-election findings on the 2018  Ekiti Gubernatorial election.

The governorship bid of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has received a boost as he has been adopted by twenty five other  political parties.

Citing what they called Fayemi’s “superlative and sparkling credentials” and life-changing policies and projects during his first tenure, the parties pledged to work for his victory at the Saturday poll.

Ekiti 2018: Why we Stopped PDP Rally - DIG

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations), Mr. Habila Joshak,
has declared that no party will be allowed to hold any
political rally not approved by the police until the election is held.

The police boss added that the proposed rally of the People’s Democratic Party
(PDP) was stopped to prevent possible breakdown of law and order.

Joshak, who is the overall commander of security operations for the
Ekiti State governorship election, made this revelation at the police state command yesterday, July 11, 2018 while addressing pressmen in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital.

President Muhammadu Buhari On Tuesday, July 10, 2018 received the defectors at the grand finale of the governorship campaign of Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the All Progressives Congress, APC gubernatorial candidate in Saturday’s election.

The mega rally took place at the
Dallimore, Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti the state capital.

The News reports that the two federal lawmakers were among the defectors, along with the chief whip of the state house of assembly.

The family of former Ondo state Deputy Governor Alhaji Lasisi Olugbenga Oluboyo has no doubt being thrown into mourning as their Daughter Miss khadijat Adenike a final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko was found dead in a circumstances which depicts that the young lady was used for Rituals.

EM Launches Election Monitoring App in Ekiti

One of the 54 Election Observer groups accredited by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), The Election Monitor, has on Saturday July 7, 2018, launched the E-Compare Ekiti 2018 governorship election mobile and web Applications in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital.

The launching of the application which was held at the pastoral center, Ikere road, Ado-Ekiti had in attendance, candidates and leaders of political parties, INEC officials, security agents, pressmen and various stakeholders in the State.

One of the party stakeholders present at the occasion, condemned the inducement of voters with money at the polling unit and agitated that it be dealt with.

Breaking: Yet Another Fuel Tanker Falls Off in Ado-Ekiti

A 33, 000 liters fuel tanker just fell off at Irona street in Ado-Ekiti, the state Capital. The tanker was to deliver fuel to NIPCO filling Station also in Irona.

Men of the water corporation are already on ground to prevent the fuel that was already spreading on the ground from further splitting and catch fire.

Inadequate Resources Responsible for Our low Response to Security Issues - Police

The Head, Nigeria Police Force Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU) Abayomi Sogunle has said, lack of adequate provision of security gadgets and materials such as bulletproof  caused the low response gotten from the police to security issues affecting the public.

He made this revelation today, Tuesday July 3, 2018 while responding to questions from pressmen at the Ado-Ekiti Area Command in Okesha, Ado-Ekiti on Police's nonchalant attitude to security issues around them.

The ASP who was at the area command as part of his visits to all area commands in the state ahead of the July 14 Election claimed the police are also human and that they will only continue to try their best based on the materials available to them.

He was at the command for three purposes, which are; to give them instructions as regards the forthcoming election, to address issues of alleged SARS misconduct and general police misconduct.
