Sheriff/Makafi Crisis: I Won’t Leave PDP – Sen Fatima Raji-Rasaki

Fatima Raji-Rasaki
Against the background of several threats by Ekiti State Governor that he will leave the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) if  Sheriff’s faction of the party wins at the Supreme Court, the Senator representing Ekiti Central at the Senate, Senator Fatima Raji-Rasaki, has vowed never to decamp with the governor to another party.
Senator Raji-Rasakimade this declaration on her facebook page following the rumour that all the six House of Representatives members and three Senators in Ekiti State would join Governor Ayo Fayose to his new party in event that Senator Markafi led faction fails at the Supreme court.
MrsRaji-Rasaki who once served as a member of the House of Representatives before she was elected to the Senate debunked the rumour that she may also defect to APC if Markafi wins at Supreme Court. She described it as a merePropaganda against her personality from the “opposition within the party”.
She said “I see those peddling such rumour as enemies of the party, selfish and greedy. They are those who do not want the progress of the party.”  There has been no love lost between the Ado Ekiti born senator and the governor since the inception of this new National
Investigation has shown that Mrs. Raji Rasaki is working with the Senator Clement Awoyelu led faction of PDP in Ekiti State while the governor is behind the Gboyega Oguntuase led faction of the party. The duo were said to be on a war path because the governor is allegedly overtasking the members of the National Assembly to which the wife of the former military Governor resisted.
Apparently referring to Fayose who had left PDP at a time to join the Labour Party and the ANPP, Mrs. Raji Rasaki said; "I am a bonafide, authentic and grassroot member of the party. Since I joined the party,I haven't decamped to any party unlike some political fornicators that are threatening to leave the party again as usual and destroy the party before leaving. So what will be my gain for leaving the party and even for who?
She further said;“though some cabals have destroyed the party, our responsibility is to remold it so that we can be able to recover our lost glory.”
