A group in support of President Muhammadu Buhari has has berated  Governor Ayodele Fayose on death wish on the President.

Fayose had claimed in a press briefing that the President was on life support machine but the Buhari Media Support Group, BMSG, described this as a lie.

The statement in part reads: "The attention of the Buhari Media Support Group (BMSG), has been drawn to a statement credited to Ekiti Governor, Ayo Fayose, where he dished a cacophony of lies on the health of President Muhammadu Buhari, claiming that he has been on life support system, for 20 days.

How Fayose Set me Up - Adewale Omirin

° Fayose Framed Me Up – Omirin
°  i was
Purportedly impeached -Omirin
Interviewed by Tai Oguntayo

Can you tell us about how you were brought up?

Well, I am a local man, I grew up purely in Aisegba.  My father was a farmer, the first photographer in my hometown.  When he was made a chief, he dropped the photographic job and took to farming. So I grew up in Aisegba.  I attended Holy Trinityand St Mathias primary schools, both in Aisegba. I attended St Jude Modern School for three years where I was among the few that passed the final exams from where I went to Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure. That was the first time I left Aisegba because I left my mother at the age of four in 1960 but my father took good care of us all.

Can we start with your most embarrassing moment in life?

That was when I gained admission to Federal School of Arts and Science, Mubi in Gongola State.  You know, I finished in Oyemekun Grammar School which was and still is a boys’ school where I used to dress anyhow because …

Why VC Fingers Fayose In FUOYE Crisis . It’s a Lie –Govr’s Aide, Unions

A new twist was introduced to the crisis rocking the Federal University of Oye Ekiti recently as the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Shoremekun, accused Governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose of allegedly propelling protesting staff of the institution to destabilize the school.

For some time now, some unions of the staff of the school including Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), National Association of Academic Technologists, (NAAT),on-Accademic Staff Union (NASU) had embarked on strike action to press for some of their demands such as review of promotion exercise of 2016, allegation of threat to sack staff by management, and alleged misappropriation of funds by the VC among others.

On the other hand, it will be recalled that there has been a frosty relationship between the governor and Vice Chancellor, who Fayose had accused of favouring the the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the Returning Officer during the Edo State Governorship election.  During the election…

Cultism in Our Higher Institutions By Bayo Adeniran

Among social ills in our society is cultism, which unfortunately and, embarrassingly, thrives among pupils of primary schools and students in higher institutions of learning within the victim-society. Cultism breeds violence, drug addiction, moral laxity, intimidation as well as harassment of many innocent students and members of staff. This lawless and barbaric trend has gained much ground that, if it is not curbed headlong, it could successfully jeopardize the learning process in our institutions which is already suffering some reverses. Whatever reasons or factors that might be adduced for the emergence of cultism in our society, what is pre-eminent is lack of good parental upbringing as well as evil communication among peers. Lawlessness and indiscipline are factors leading to this condemned act of cultism. Also, students who are victims of academic poverty, tend to seek ‘protection’ by enlisting their membership in cultism with the objective of harassing their teachers or lectu…

‎Find Afe Babalola's Accuser Elsewhere - Ekiti APC

Against the backdrop of a press statement by an Ado Ekiti group that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was behind a story that has gone viral on Chief Age Babalola, the APC in Ekiti State has washed its hands off it

A certain Elder Falade in an article he sent on social media  accused Chief Afe Babalola (SAN) of conducts incongruous to his social standing as a statesman.

On Tuesday on the state media, a certain youths group had accused the party, saying its spokesman, Taiwo Olatunbosun,  and another member of the party's media team, Hakeem Jamiu, were behind the publication to ridicule the senior lawyer.

But reacting to the allegation by Olatunbosun, the party said that its men knew nothing about the article, saying that the news report by the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State was the handiwork of mischief-makers to paint the party and its media handlers black and set Chief Babalola against the leaders of the party.

The reaction reads:

"Our attention has been drawn to …

Cockroaches, Rats Have Taken Over PDP Secretariat - Sen. Awoyelu

Q: from your experience, we know a house of assembly member in Lagos, we know you were SDP chairman here, you later became the pioneer chairman of PDP but still, people would still want to hear from the horses’ mouth.

Thank you very much, I am Senator C.K. Awoyelu; Clement Kolawole Awolyelu. I started my political activities in Lagos. There, I was so many things, I was a legislator, I was member of the house of assembly, I was chairman there of what we call schools Management Committee (SMC) for mushin Area. Then, the urge came in me that I should go and practice this game in my hometown, in my state, which was when I had to leave Lagos for Akure as the state capital, I was there for years. I left Lagos in 1988, and then when I got to Akure, I joined others to start playing our politics too. Because at that time, there was a military regime but then, we were playing our game underground. There I worked hard, I became a local government chairman, and the local government chairman in o…

Fayose's Lawmaker Vows To Terminate PDP In Ekiti As He Joins APC

Less than a year to the governorship election in Ekiti State, a member of the State House of  Assembly, Hon Gboyega Aribisogan has vowed to use all his resources to send Governor Ayodele Fayose out of office and send People's Democratic Party into extinction in Ekiti.

Speaking in Ikole Ekiti on Tuesday while dumping PDP to join the All Progressive Congress (APC) with more than 200 members of PDP, the former Chairman of the House Committee on Information said Fayose's days are numbered in the State.

The embattled lawmaker representing Ikole Constituency 1, had been having running battle with Governor Fayose for some months now leading to his suspension from the Ekiti State House of Assembly.

Aribisogan who is a newspaper publisher in Ekiti State, while addressing the people at Ikole, hinged his action on the factionalisation and division of the state chapter of the PDP which, according to him, has made his stay in the party “extremely difficult.”

The defection, which was the fi…

   By Tai Oguntayo

A lecture delivered by the former Chairman of Ekiti Staye Council of tge Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akogun Tai Oguntayo, while serving as Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor on Political Matters at the Mass Communication Students of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State on November 2nd, 2011 As a journalist myself, who by the special grace of God was part of the agitation for the FOI Act being the immediate past State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council and as an author of books, I see this as another opportunity to impart in Nigeria’s future leaders.
To understand this lecture succinctly, there is need to give brief introduction of some cogent words in the topic such as Freedom, Information, Act, Accountability and Political class before graduating to what Freedom of Information Act is in its real sense of it.
Webster’s Reference Library Dictionary and Thesaurus defines “freedom” as “being free;…
